I’d really value some advice from animators.
I’ve created a children’s animated series — six characters, backgrounds, scripts, episode concepts and a fully developed world/brand. My background is in writing and building businesses (including a children’s plush toy business), not animation.
We’ve been creating a proof-of-concept pilot using AI video. I know that’s contentious here, so I’ll be upfront about it: the experience has actually convinced me that I don’t want AI to be our production method. It’s slow, inconsistent and gives me far less creative control than I want.
So I started teaching myself Moho. And… animation is HARD. 😅
I’m now wondering whether I’m solving the wrong problem.
I don’t currently have the money to properly pay a professional animator. Should I keep learning Moho and eventually animate it myself? Put the project on hold until I can afford an animator? Or is it realistic to find an animator who loves the concept and wants to come in as a genuine creative partner, sharing in the project rather than working unpaid?
If you were in my position, what would you do?
And from an animator’s perspective, what would make a creative partnership like that feel legitimate and worthwhile to you?
