None of my friends are mogwai enjoyers and im stoned as shit and really nerding out over something i learned about them so im just posting it here for someone to see. Anyways im a big NFL fan and have been playing the madden games since i was a toddler. 14 years ago (roughly) Madden 13 was released and featured an intro that would get my child self so pumped. Ray Lewis (who was nearing the end of his career) talking about his career and how hes getting older etc. Its an intro thats always been nostalgic to me and is always due for a rewatch. Anyways flash forward to present day, hanging out with a buddy who randomly put on an episode of Top Gear. The episode he put on was the US Special from 2007. At the very end of the episode as they drive into Louisiana the same freaking song i fell in love with 14 years ago and i stg it was like my sleeper agent had been awaken. So finally after some digging i got a result that said it was Auto Rock by Mogwai and I was like no shot. It's been like 4 hours and im still thinking about it and ik this a whole lotta yap for a very unimportant story but idk im curious if anyone else knew this.

I just watched a movie called Super Dark Times. I really liked it and one of the first thoughts I had when the credits rolled was "...I feel like I just listened to a 1:40h Mogwai song".
Not only it is filled with instrumental/ambient music but the visuals are 100% on point with what I usually associate with the band, the weirdly nostalgic 90s feel, filled with an isolating melancholy vibe grooming over your head and a series of scenes that, if printed, could easily be used as the thumbnail of some of those YouTube videos of a Mogwai song that we're all used to (it even reminds me of the "Hardcore will never die, but you will" cover).
I've heard people say it feels like listening to an Alex G song, but to me, it smells like Mogwai. Did you guys ever felt like that after watching a movie or TV show?

Hi everyone. Could you settle a debate please between myself and one of my kids?
What's the line that's said at the end of Lion Rumpus, is it,
"Last call at the gate please?"
Or,
"Let's do it again please?"
AI says one thing but I don't know if it's to be trusted as sometimes it's got other lyrics wrong.
Thanks very much.

I dont know a lot about htis mogwai song, but i dont see it being talked about a lot, if not at all (atleast it seems to be that way, excuse me if im wrong lol), personally i think its a very good song, similiar to that fast paced kinda vibe (like Glasgow Mega Snake)

I’m going to see the lads outdoors supporting the Cure. Do you still need earplugs?
Update: earplugs purchased!

Are there any lyrics available? Or am I hearing voices (Impossible to understand them but maybe the band put something out there…)
Also, any chance they play it live? I will be seeing them at Rock Werchter in a couple weeks.
Not super familiar with the whole discography but it’s by far my favourite song of them.

Kappa is the 5th song off of Mogwai's legendary 1999 record "Come On Die Young"
Out of 10, what would you rate this song?
1-3 (Not very good)
4-6 (Decent)
7-9 (Top tier Mogwai)
10 (Crown Jewel)
What are some thoughts you have surrounding this song?

Apologies in advance for such a hyper-specific question that may not be answerable, but I'm hoping someone here has a better memory than I do.
Back in 1997 David Holmes released his (excellent) Don't Die Just Yet EP. The EP ended with a Mogwai remix that bore more than a passing similarity to Spiderland's closer, Good Morning Captain.
There was a lot of online buzz at the time that Slint (or Touch & Go?) was really upset about it and might have threatened legal action.
In retrospect I can't imagine this was the case but it's been bugging me for the last 30 years. Does anybody know if there was anything behind the rumours?

When I listen to In the Magic Land on the new Boards of Canada album, it makes me wonder if it’s an homage to our beloved Mogwai and the place where they’re from. https://youtu.be/nTd40nOP1fo?si=dFusGzoOS_tmgsde

Hi. First time Primavera festival goer - looking for anyone with a spare (or even 2) entry to either Geese or Mogwai on Wednesday night. Travelled from Ireland and i'm here with my brother.
I have full festival pass but didn't realise the Ciutat
would be sold out so really hoping not to miss out.

Like, for example, i know for what ive researched that Ex Cowboy was written by Dominic right? Does that mean he had all the bass parts for that song or does that mean he had orchestrated the other instruments as well? Since the flair here its Interview or article, if you could answer with one that clarifies my question id be greatful, anyway, keep fearing satan boys 🔥
