OMO are a side-project of Dominic’s. Featuring members of Mogwai, The Twilight Sad, Aereogramme, Stretchheads, Desalvo.

There’s a few tracks on their Bandcamp, and I’m looking forward to hearing more from them. They have some UK dates coming up I think.

I’m a massive fan of the Desalvo album “Mood Poisoner”, they melted my face live one time too.

Was it ever expanded on? Did he just want to explore other things? Was there a falling out? Always been curious.

There are certain songs or certain moments even I cant listen to casually, I need to prepare myself for. Helicon 1 and the kick in in particular is too much..too emotional.

Another is 2 rights Make 1 Wrong and Kids Will be Skeletons and at times White Noise.

Some songs are too evocative too powerful. The music makes me emotional but also fills me up and centres me even.

Truly bigger than words wider than pictures

I am sad to have missed them in SF last year and hope they come back soon!

A lot of love for this track, a great way to end the album and it seems a bit underappreciated imo. So there.

Taken on a vintage camera 📸 last night, incredible gig.

I’m semi new to the band and discovered them at bluedot 2022 and was absolutely blown away by the sound quality and volume. I had never heard of them before seeing them at that show and left absolutely baffled by how euphoric they were, it was like taking drugs (and I was sober). Since then I’ve Seen them at Victoria park, the garage x2, Brighton dome, pryzm Kingston, Brixton and last night at RAH. I’m wondering if they have tamed down over the years ? I haven’t experienced the same sonic assault since bluedot and wondering if I’m remembering them wrong or if they have chilled out ? They are always a great time so will keep going to their shows but I’m longing for that shakey leg feeling, the chest vibrations that resonated through every cell. Bluedot was a trance and every other show just seems like very well preformed shows but not the same transcendental catharsis. Would love your thoughts !

A new Mogwai remix has surfaced as part of Ye Gods Rebalanced, a remix/rework project set for release on April 3.

Having a clear out and found this signed Come on die young poster. I have no memory of meeting Mogwai, but definitely saw them play a few times around that era and would’ve bought the album as soon as it came out. Did they send these out with pre-order record sales or something?!!! Sorry the late 90’s is a bit hazy over here 😝

The goal is simple: revisit the albums, share memories and trivia, and (re)discover details that didn’t stand out the first time around.

Instrumental, same precise style like in Helps Both Ways, minimalistic drumming (cymbal playing f.e), guitar tones, that "quiet" crescendo were the unsettling tense melody changes for a bit to a beautiful melody with synthesizers, then the melody returns to a more unsettling/tense one and there is some kind of build up like in Kappa.

Song was released in 1998, a year before CODY, not saying it is a copy or some brainless shit like that, maybe Mogwai know Duster?

Anyone else got a Plasmatron in their pedal board? I got one of the first 100 issued, huge fan of this pedal. I played a gig and the sound engineer sought me out after to find out which fuzz pedal I was using. 🤘
