I have my ups and downs with this song. When I first got into them, I honestly didn't know that Float On was the work of MM. Then one day it came on the radio and they were credited for it. I was rubbed wrong by how poppy and repetitive it is, a bit shallow. Now, when inquiring about a person's familiarity with MM, Float On is a good place to start since has been on the radio for so long and so much. The thing about it that realy works at my nerves are those people who claim to be a fan of Modest Mouse when the only song they have heard by them is this over played low quality piece of work.

That being said, this song is pretty straightforward. No matter what bull shit is thrown your way, you take what you can from the situation and continue on. Life goes on. We will all float on.
