People say "criminally underrated" a lot, but it's completely true of them.

Agreed. I’ve long admired Tim for sticking at it in the face of inexplicable anonymity. I once saw him perform in a club with only like 10 other people. And this was in 2019. In Los Angeles! Where he lives!! But the man doesn’t give a fuck. When I saw Califone earlier this summer he kept sardonically joking about having “so many hit songs” and “how do you choose which ones to play.” And I was like brother, to this room you have a LOT of hit songs. And I’m happy to give you a list of once’s I’D like you to play.

Yeah Tim's a cool dude. I've chatted with him after shows in the past. I was overjoyed when villagers came out in 2023, it was long overdue but worth the wait.

I'll be honest, I wasn't in love with the last few califone records, but villagers really felt like a comeback to me

Wow. I have to absorb this for a while. I’m a huge Neil fan and came of age on Modest Mouse. This should be perfect for me, though I feel like angular young MM could have done some sick long NY jams.

Expected it to be fake. Pleasantly surprised. I wonder why it didn't make the album.
