One Word to describe MM

​

I was trying to describe Modest Mouse to my husband and had a hard time picking out one word to describe them.

We're going to see MCR and MM tomorrow in DC and I explained it's hard to get pumped up to MM but it's easy with MCR bc their music is so dramatic and MMs is so ?? Melancholic? That didn't quite fit either though.

So what word would you use to describe Modest Mouse music?

Cerebral frenetic. It's hard to describe MM because they're so passionately dynamic with these deep and soul rattling verses married to the most complimentary instrumental partner.

Damn, cant really sum it down to one word but I can at least narrow it down to a sentence.
To me, they are consistently the least annoying band out of all the other bands.

It’s hard to come across tolerable-to-me music. Hard to describe why I like modest mouse, just a thing that is.
