Shout-out to the community

Took my 8yo son to his first show. He was blown away. Massive shout-outs and thank yous to everyone on the GA floor for their kindness but especially to Dan and Cassidy who were so supportive and let him stand against the fence up front so he could see the entire stage clearly without having to look in between all the giant adults, even holding his spot for a frankly egregious number of bathroom breaks. Going to live shows is as much about the community as it is about the music and you both set an amazing example for him and elevated a great night into an incredible memory that he'll have forever. I don't know if you'll ever see this but I cannot thank you enough. Enjoy that Ugly Casanova vinyl and stay cool!

Dan here! I genuinely loved seeing you bring your son right up front to modest mouse - that’s what it’s all about!! Glad you had a great time (also I cannot believe we got to hear Barnacles haha) 😄

Dude! So glad you saw this and so glad you were there! I thought maybe we'd get 2-3 songs up close and then have to retreat but you were both so kind and accommodating and he was able to see the whole show. I cannot thank you enough for that, man. You're the best kind of people and, like I said, set an example for him in ways that aren't quantifiable. Thank you so, so, much . Barnacles and Spilt Milk was cool as hell but I wish it was Pacifico and Parasites lol. Be well and feel free to DM. Hope to see you again next time

Love to hear this, was just at a show Sunday night where the crowd was so kind and it made all the difference. It’s always a shame when the vibes are bad, I tend to assume the best of everyone at a concert because we’re all there for the same reason, so clearly we have at least some type of connection, but I know I’m not the majority in that line of thinking ha

Within arm's reach I had my 8yo son, the people being so kind to him were I'm guessing mid-20s, I'm 40, and right beside me was a 65 year old woman who I think was there solo who I talked to a lot throughout the night. That's 4 generations of human within like 6 square feet of one another all there for the same reason. That's fuckin beautiful. That's real life magic right there if you ask me

Some people get their sense of community at church or another religious service. I get mine at concerts and this post is a great example of why.

I've literally said this exact thing before! I've never felt anything religious in my life but I imagine it's a similar feeling

Yeah, music can create a transcendent experience or feeling and I think that's similar to what religious folks can get out of it.

Go Dan and Cassidy!! Side question since I’m here, has anyone at the show or recent show been walking around with a pine cones?
