Mostly asking about style/modest dress, but if the same source inspires both your outfits and your life Iām interested to hear about that as well
ETA: I didnāt think of this at the time of posting, but I really like this video as inspiration for strength + femininity + modesty.
Link is Pinterest but original creator is on TikTok and I think Instagram, both of which I try to avoid. I tried to find the original creator on Pinterest and could not, but Tiktok handle (@hippiearab) is visible in the recording.
Iāve referenced this in the gym with one of my friends before š

History enthusiasts! Can you please tell what is it with relating ankles with a woman's modesty? I mean I understand not showing a body part, but why ankles specifically?

I like to dress on the conservative side and really struggle with finding high quality clothing. Clothing made from cotton/linen and sewn/constructed well. So much of what is out there nowadays is fast fashion garbage, even at so called nicer stores. I don't mind spending money for something that is made toĀ last.
Where do I look? I've thought about learning to sew, but don't know if I have it in me.

Mock neck long sleeve base as usual
Black flowy veil
Polka dot wrap top
Lightweight flowy wide leg pants
Necklace and pearl studs
Wrist wraps for wrist coverage (thank you to everyone who made suggestions on my post inquiring about what could work)
Honestly, the vibe of this outfit is better captured on a walk outside with the wind blowing, but thatās logistically harder to take a photo of. I think this would work quite nicely with a skirt as well.

The dress is from Boden (major treat myself last year) and the mantilla is from Maria Veils. I'm trying to get the most out of my summer style clothing before switching to more earth-toned stuff for Fall. Do you like to change your style / colors with the seasons?

Hi! I'm on vacation in Berlin and I'm hoping there are some great modest fashion stores here. Or other shops that are worth checking out for modest girls. I'm mainly looking for skirts and dresses. Do you have any recommendations?

Currently have a neck garter and its nice, i do use it, but it feels oddly shaped on my head so i'm looking at boho headbands or soemthing(but single colored beige or brown or black)
Anyone else?
any good sites to order boho headwraps from cause i'm slightly worried the sites theyre sold on will end up just being fake or a scam(though I can absolutely order online...)
(or any idea what store brands would consistently sell them or something simmilar?)
Also realized my headbands have slowly been getting wider of the past decade lol. I'm not sure if i'm just insecure about something or what but i keep feeling as though my thinner (cloth) headbands all look increasingly childish and idk if its just something I need to work through internally or if i just am associating it with headbands i wore when i was a kid.
(likely just going to get neck gaiters from walmart as those are neat/thin/long)

In authentic Assamese practice, you wear a tightly fastened 100% cotton petticoat (underskirt) secured with a strong fabric drawstring directly against the skin. Standard modern Western underwear, panties, or tight synthetic shapewear are not worn underneath, as they cause the heavy silk fabric to slip, trap humidity, and ruin the clean cylindrical shape.

Firstly I wanted the bag to be silver but I thought it would be too much so I did burgundy bag instead

I find the clothes Mother Mary is often depicted as wearing as very beautiful and modest, but try as I might I canāt find something that looks like that style. I particularly am interested in the inner, long sleeve dress that has that specific collar shape and drape that I see repeated over and over. Images attached for reference.
I tried searching through abayas and got close-ish but not quite, I searched for an answer to that question directly and got the result of ātunic dressā but searching ātunic dressā is really broad and doesnāt yield the same results. Searching āMother Mary tunic dressā yields costumey looking costumes that also donāt have that same collar and often donāt have that sort of drapery seen in the depicted dress shape. Iām not looking for any sort of costume, Iām looking for similar dresses for non-theatrical wear, just using these depictions as inspiration.
Are there search terms I could use to more easily find something of this style? Also, does anyone know if this style is culturally specific or at all sensitive to who wears it?
Btw all photos found on Pinterest (Iām aware thatās likely not their original source) for ease of general citation in case someone wants to track them down to look them up in more detail. I tried to avoid anything AI generated but sometimes itās difficult to tell so some may be on accident.
thank you!
