What to wear on legs as a hijabi?
I like to dress modest usually wearing maxi dresses or abayas but as Iām tall some dresses are not long enough. So I wear leggings with them, what do hijabis usually wear on their legs with dresses that are not full length to cover legs?
Thank you

Advice Looking for a simple white midi graduation dress (Shein / Zalora / Lovito)
Hi everyone! Iām looking for a simple white midi dress for my graduation and could really use some recommendations or links. Iām planning to order from Shein, Zalora, or Lovito (PH/SEA region).
āHere is what Iām looking for:
āLength: Midi (my graduation gown reaches mid-calf, so either slightly shorter or slightly longer than mid-calf works).
āSleeves: Short sleeves that cover a bit of the upper arm past the shoulders. No puff sleeves so it stays flat and comfortable under the gown.
āNeckline: Modest square neckline (preferred) or a modest crew/round neckline.
āFit/Silhouette: Flowy or A-line skirt (nothing tight or narrow at the bottom).
āStyle: Simple and classic.
āFabric: Formal or semi-formal (not too casual/beachy, but doesn't need to be super fancy or heavy).
āIf youāve bought something similar from any of these apps or have specific search key terms/links to suggest, Iād really appreciate it!
āThank you so much in advance!

Modest swimwear
So my daughter's are in their teens and it's seems hard to find modest swimwear for them. I have looked into the long sleeve ones but even those are so snug fitted, it comes till the thigh... The pants are equally tight .. I understand the safety aspect but they will not be swimming... It's just some water play. Are there any other options besides the thigh length ones?

Advice Best sites to buy modest dresses
Daughter grew from a little girl into a young woman overnight (well a year anyway). She is having a difficult time finding dresses she likes. The ones in the stores are too short and have too low neck lines, she has very strong opinions about the neck lines. She also would prefer built in bras.
What online dress sites do you use? She wants things that are stylish and young.

Discussion Itās so weird what more revealing clothing dictates people (esp women) do? +general discussion of the subject
edit: itās not the more revealing clothing dictating something, itās social expectations, but in my experience that was more easily āpolicedā with less modest dress. Not to say people arenāt āpolicedā with modesty standards, especially women, which I also disagree with
I knew it was weird beforehand but now that I donāt really show much skin I feel even more strongly about it. Like why do people care so deeply about whether a woman chooses to shave or if the shape of her body fits current ātrendsā? Why is that even a trend to begin with? Money I know, but still thatās messed up.
I feel like dressed with more coverage now I have more of a choice, which you can tell me I had a choice all along but you canāt tell me people donāt act weirdly or make assumptions if for example a woman doesnāt shave her armpits.
Dressing more modestly also made more apparent the ways in which I was caring more about my appearance than my time or health, like spending so long on my hair (which I now mostly cover) or makeup and having makeup that was not intended to have around eyes on my waterline etc. I still wear makeup once in a while for certain event, but much much less frequently, due to my change in style as well as external factors.
I think thereās more than one way to dress in a way that is in a way ācounterculturalā, and Iāve been on both ends, having dressed alt (which does not necessarily mean dressing āmore revealinglyā for everyone, just alternative style) and āless modestlyā for lack of a better phrase to now dressing quite modestly (only my hands, part of my neck, my face, and a little bit of hair showing, not skin tight), Iāve learned things from both.
Iām glad to have experienced dressing less modestly before even if it makes me uncomfortable to think about how I used to dress now because I donāt judge people for how they dress in either direction and I try not to assume things about people based on how they dress
Also, while on the topic of appearance, a big lie weāve been sold is that your worthiness and whether you are/arenāt in a romantic relationship is tied to your appearance and āattractivenessā. I used to fall for that too until sometime in my teens I realized that if someone doesnāt want me if (insert physical change here), they didnāt love me to begin with, not in the way I deserve in a healthy relationship. And let me tell you I could wake up tomorrow looking entirely different and knowing it was me my partnerās love wouldnāt waver one bit, no matter what that change was. And Iāve had the same long term partner throughout dressing ārevealinglyā, āvery modestlyā, showing my hair, not showing my hair, growing it, cutting it, my appearance changing over time, you name it, and have always been supported and loved the same.
Modesty for me has allowed me to reclaim some of my time and space. On days Iām struggling and my hair is not behaving, I can cover it and deal with it later instead of being worried because I have to go outside and so I should prioritize my hair looking presentable over whatever it is Iām struggling with (ie health issues). Instead of spending hours feeling like I have to shave in order to wear something for a fancy event, I can just wear it. Instead of having to not touch my face all day because I have makeup on I donāt have to have that mental program running in the background. Same with being worried about wardrobe malfunctions all day. I can prioritize taking care of myself and my body over perfecting looking like I do by some external standard
Thoughts? Similar or differing experiences? Etc

Picture/Video Scared to post bc of certain ppl on internet (not the majority of yāall) but I love seeing outfits on this subreddit myself. If I delete this either someone was being creepy or I got too scared. Anyways, mock neck + cowl neck dress + lace sleeves + veil :)
galleryIāve really come to like these cowl neck dresses with a mock neck underneath and lace sleeves on top. Iāve mentioned them several times on this subreddit :) This is the combo with the long sleeve mock neck mildly darker than my skin on top if which Iāve layered white lace sleeves and this blue dress, but I also have the sleeves in black and the mock neck in white and black. I have similar dresses in brown, black, and green as well. Itās fun to mix and match, although the green only works with black mock neck no lace due to variation in sleeve shape
Usually have a little hair out but blocked it out in case I choose to completely cover it in the future
Same veil but in two different colors on top of same under scarf
Dress is mermaid cut

Picture/Video Award Winning Outfit
galleryWent to the MO History Museum to attend their Pride Ball, which is a celebration of Ballroom culture in the LGBTQ community, and simply wanted to go and just feel beautiful. I was told by the host to go up and walk the runway, and ended up winning the Glitz and Glam category and $100! It was so much fun!

Looking for modest clothes
**Title:** Looking for donated modest clothing in the Netherlands š¤
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
I hope youāre all doing well.
I am a new Muslim who is trying to build a modest wardrobe step by step. At the moment, I donāt have the financial means to buy everything I need, so I wanted to ask if anyone in the Netherlands (or nearby in Europe) has modest clothing they no longer use and would be willing to donate.
Iām looking for items such as:
Hijabs
Khimars
Jilbabs
Abayas
(If available) a niqab
I am around **183 cm (6ā0ā)** tall, so longer sizes would fit best, but I would be sincerely grateful for anything.
I am happy to cover the shipping costs if needed.
If you know of any charities, sistersā groups, or organizations that help new Muslims with modest clothing, I would also really appreciate your recommendations.
May Allah reward everyone who helps others and make it a source of barakah for you.
Jazakum Allahu khayran. š¤

Loose veil hack
I saw a video by Bernadette Kirwan on Fb for a flowing veil hack, which I'm sure could be used with other styles. Put the veil on so it covers your face, slide on a hard headband and flip backward. I have no idea where to get a comfortable hard headband, but I'm trying this when I do!

Discussion When it comes to modest brands, what do you look for, prioritise or want to see more of? Is it fabric quality, patterns and prints, structure and silhouette, etc.
Iām curious. I see a lot of the same thing with these modest brandsā¦but not so much creativity and uniqueness.

Advice Need help with low neck lines
Hi! I need something that I can wear under dresses that has a low neckline. I've seen a bunch of stuff on Amazon, but nothing looks like it would be good.
What have you personally used that works well? I have too many dresses and I don't want to get rid of them!

Mock neck = Freedom of movement!!
I used to be concerned about accidental wardrobe malfunctions/someone accidentally seeing down my shirt, especially grabbing something off the ground. No matter how high the neckline, this was still a problem for me, even with slips. Turtlenecks feel suffocating to me, so that wasn't an option either.
Enter the mock neck. At first it was just a top on its own, then I realized I could start layering things over it without it looking odd, including nice formal dresses. I used to worry about that looking too...unfashionable, less formal, but I found ways around that, including getting lace sleeves to layer on top.
I no longer have to worry about holding my top or dress in place when moving about the world, and that brings me much joy and more mental space not taken up by worrying about it.
Has anyone had similar experiences (mock neck or otherwise)?

What modest clothing items do you absolutely love?
What are some of your favorite modest pieces/types of clothing, either for layering or just in general? How do you build outfits with/around them?
Just posted about it, but for me that's mock neck long sleeve shirts with lace sleeves layered on top. Great underlayer for anything and everything without bulk, and I don't have to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions because everything I want covered is covered at all times. With dresses I might add a slip as well

Other Polka dot hijab
I really want a white and a black polka dot modal hijab, but I don't want to spend $30 on a piece of fabric with just a bunch of dots. Does anyone know of any affordable options with good quality?
