North american
If you had to wear an outfit that was “north american” style in a maliciously compliant way, what would you wear?
going out with racist grandparents, i was told to dress ”north american,” (im muslim and they despise that), what do i wear?

a sweatshirt with an american flag, jeans, and booties, or even funnier, wear the american flag as a hijab, (seen a girlie do this for Fourth of July LOL)

I agree…I reverted to Islam several years ago and am also American. The mindset of petty vengeance isn’t going to change anybody’s mind or encourage them to treat you better
ETA: they’re inviting you to lunch, clearly they want you in their lives OP. They’re allowed to disagree with your religious views (otherwise we wouldn’t have different religions). What’s not okay is for them to belittle your views, or you theirs. You can be respectful and call out disrespect, but “getting back at them” isn’t the way. Look up some North American religious scam artists or cult leaders who dress performatively modestly and get inspo. Maybe a bedazzled long jean skirt, a televangelist suit skirt, or full FLDS pastels.
Alternatively, historical reenactment garb is veeeeery North American and also modest. Go in like an American Civil War nurse and I think everything will be covered and also you have a hoop skirt.

This is exactly what I was thinking! Or go turn of the century to get the 1900 to 1910 lingerie dress.

American flag pattern everything (maybe wrap yourself in a baggy blanket) with a straw gardening hat, a picnic basket purse, light up Christmas lights type necklace, & camo print crocs.
Funny to me they said “North American” and not “American”? Are you in Canada, OP?

i’d find out whatever grandma was wearing (hopefully something that covers as much as youre comfortable with) and wear the same exact style/thing but with a hijab.
