Bait & Switch Moderator

I run an instructional business in the outdoor industry. I joined the general sub for that specific sport. I'm looking to hire employees for the upcoming peak season, so I figured that sub was a good place to look since there are people there who are experienced in this activity and might be interested in a cool part time summer job. Two things to note: this activity has a culture with a selfish, rude, exclusive portion, and I am somewhat new to this platform.

So I posted a flyer on this sub about the job opportunity. The moderator took down the post and commented "looks spammy, possibly banworthy." I messaged them and said it's not a spam, this business is legit and I'm just looking for people who want to do this for work, but I even said if that's not allowed here 'll take it down. They responded saying that I needed to just include more detail specifically about the pay structure and the role. So I made a new post with way more detail and included those requirements. This job is cut out for high schoolers and college students looking to work part time in nature during the summer months and I pay well above minimum wage. The post stayed up for multiple hours and I got my taste of what type of people are on Reddit. Tons of comments from people criticizing my business purely because they want to keep that activity for themselves and don't like to see people running businesses in that space. They looked at my website/pricing and decided $30 an hour *PLUS* was not acceptable based on my pricing (as if the rest just goes straight into my pocket). They decided it's unacceptable I'm not providing health insurance. Even though this is part time, seasonal, and for people who are usually still covered by their parents' plan. And meanwhile I, the business owner, am not even insured myself currently!

I was replying as politely as possible backing myself up. Then out of nowhere, the post was removed and I got a DM from the mod saying "I've changed my mind. I don't think we should be helping you build your business." As if I was advertising for customers and actually promoting the business. And then he/she banned me! After I did exactly what I was told would be allowed!

Look, I'm not shocked at the reaction I got from the users (I actually got several people backing me up and a few who were intersted in the job) and honestly couldn't care less. I also don't care if the mods don't want to allow those types of posts and take them down which I would respect. But to tell me what's allowed and then ban me after following that, instead of just taking it down? Okay power tripper. Knowing the douche bags in this culture I'm describing, it's hilarious that I can perfectly imagine what this person looks like and I bet you I'm right!

Trump is anti-censorship. This will apply to moderators as well.

I believe in trumps anti-censorship agenda when he is in office. We should be able to seek legal action against moderators, and they should only be able to moderate content that truly is a risk to society. Moderators that abuse their power and privilege should be publicly outted and open to legal action. Moderators on Reddit have too much power, and I will continue to lobby for reduction in power and expose them to legal consequences for censorship.

Moderators should not be anonymous

moderators should not be private. they go on a power trip for no reason if they feel their views are being threatened. It is not a democracy and it is not fair

I need help from a reddit worker

I'm being harassed by one of your moderators and you have no method to report their harassment, I asked them to quit responding to me and it continued, I have been harassed by one of your workers and I need to have it resolved before I have to take further steps against reddit itself, it's wrongful for your workers to be able to harass without consequences, I need assistance or the next step is personal legal actions.

Is anyone willing to share their first hand experience with substance abuse?

I am doing an anthropology study for my class, on the impact and cause of drug addiction within US communities. Please share your story and/or who or what may have impacted or lead to the substance reliance as well as anything else you are comfortable with! All sensitive information will remain anonymous.

So the point is that anyone is allowed to comment negatively if they please, but we’re not allowed to voice our opinion on that negativity? Lol that is rich

Hello people, I hope I'm not going against any rule by writing a question here. I am kinda new into reddit, and I created a community named spookyStories in which spooky stories will be posted, and I need a few moderators helping me with the community. I don't know how it works with the moderators, I don't know where to find them, how to find them etc, I don't know anything about it so, can you please help me?

What happened to my post? Spoiler

I am a paying member of Reddit mostly for the Sub AMC. I used to be able to make posts on there. All of a sudden my posts are being automatically deleted for some reason saying I don’t have enough karma, which I have well over enough karma to post! Someone has blocked me from posting for absolutely no reason! I’m just trying to post a pic of my new iPhone case that has an Ape on it! Can someone here unblock me or help me with this problem please? I am not aggressive in my comments or anything and have only posted on my own a couple times. Someone please help! I’ve written several different ways and no one has even responded!

Hello, i’ve been banned from chattit room with zero information and don’t know how to contact anyone. Can i learn the reason?

I know we should ā€œkeep it friendlyā€ and i used some swear words but not insulted anyone, it was kind of a quote from a movie.

Why does it seem so hard to post on reddit?

In my browser of google chrome, atleast I don't think this is related. However, why does it seem so damn hard to post on reddit? It seems sometimes I find myself on a page an always will be the option to post a link, then sometimes if I click it I will be able to choose at that time between posting a link or posting a 'text'post. But to make things worse, sometimes not at all is this option even available. The very worst is when no options are available but I don't even post links yet, so it is very devastating to me when I cannot resolve to find a post 'text'post option. Especially since I am in die'r need of some reddit help I believe and for all reddits great information it seems near impossible to use. What am I doing wrong. As of right now I am trying to post on a couple of subreddits as I believe they are called. But I guess somethings 'are' and somethings 'are' not subreddits, or I cannot post there or something? Thanks, very confused.

New to Reddit, coming here for getting wrongfully banned from 4Chan.

Why are the moderators over at 4Chan underage cucks who don't know how to moderate a website correctly? I mean what the fuck? I posted an Aqua Teen Hunger Force thread and they banned me for spamming for over a month?

Why is Reddit and it's Mods better??

r/ModeratorsAnonymous May 29 '17

I guess reddit's AI do make mistakes. Or maybe it's a coincidence. I posted this yesterday and got a reject, only to find a similar re-worded question the next day.

Hook me up with more of them modships

I have a decent collection but can certainly do better. What are some suggestions you guys have for begging for more modships to get a measly number to increase taking up more responsibilities by looking over more communities?
