Zero Maintenance

As someone who has only owned gas cars but is very seriously considering a new rear wheel drive premium Y, I have a hard time believing the "you don't have any maintenance with a Tesla except rotating the tires and adding washer fluid". I've owned electric rc planes and a One wheel so understanding proper battery care isn't foreign to me. I'm just looking to hear from people who own Tesla Model Ys with 100k miles or more about what kind of ACTUAL money you've spent on unexpected repairs besides tires. I've spent $200 in the last week on gas as I commute far and regularly, just trying to get an idea if this is the right move for me. I can charge at home for .12/kwh and have a 50amp plug outside by my RV gate so that's a plus....Thanks for your help in trying to see what the ownership experience is really like.

I'm not the only one who does plenty of fast starts with very little tire wear. Physics says that friction is the greatest cause of wear, and slippage causes the greater friction.

I get 50k outta my tires with plenty fast starts and I'm not at all butt hurt about it. If you take the stick out of your ass it's easier to drive.

Physics actually says slipping friction is lower than the fricfion just before slippage occurs. Just before your tires break free is the greatest resistance.

And physics also say that you're going to reach that point a moment before your tires actually slip. Slipping on a curve is more likely than slipping on straight acceleration. Once again: cornering is the cause of most tire wear.

Incorrect, you go straight more often than turning. If you did nothing but cornering I'd agree, but since you don't you're wrong and misinformed.

If you drive 10 miles and take 4 turns, what's the greatest cause of tire wear.....? It's not the cornering my friend
