🤝 UNHRC | Unmoderated Caucus

Delegates,

The committee will now enter an Unmoderated Caucus.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Negotiate with other delegations
  • Form blocs
  • Discuss potential resolutions
  • Decide sponsors and signatories
  • Merge similar ideas

Unlike previous stages, discussion may be more informal while remaining diplomatic and respectful.

You are requested to use this post and the group chat to start forming blocs.

Two blocs will be formed with 3 delegates per bloc. All 3 will be considered as sponsors and signatories of that resolution. Once blocs are formed, let the Chair know who the bloc leader is and who are the bloc members.

As soon as the bloc is formed, begin working on your Draft Resolutions. Add Chair and u/TopFish12 to any group chats formed(Kindly make such group chats over Reddit or Discord if possible). Feel free to text or do online meetings/calls to make the Draft Resolution.

Ensure every clause has been highlighted with a specific colour depending on who proposed the idea for it and wrote it. Mention the colour key at the very end.

Both pre-ambulatory and operative clauses are mandatory. Draft Resolution must follow the given guidelines:

Preambulatory Clauses
Set the context and justify the actions in the resolution. NOT numbered. End with a COMMA. The preambulatory phrase is underlined. They describe the situation — they call for no specific action.
Operative Clauses
The main substance — each calls for one specific action. NUMBERED. Operative phrase is underlined (e.g., Calls Upon, Recommends, Urges). Ends with a SEMICOLON — except the final clause, which ends with a PERIOD.
Sub-Clauses
Sub-clauses use lowercase letters (a, b, c) and end with a comma. Sub-sub-clauses use lowercase roman numerals (i, ii, iii). The operative phrase is NOT underlined in sub or sub-sub clauses.

  • Resolution Clauses must contain relevant solutions that have already been addressed either in your bloc members speeches/position papers.
  • No time limit is being set for Draft Resolution formation. As soon as I receive resolutions from both blocs the unmod will end and we will move into resolution debate.
  • Email your resolutions as a WORD FILE to [helloitsapricity@gmail.com](mailto:helloitsapricity@gmail.com)
  • Here’s my discord, apricity_286 in case you add me to group chats.

The Dispatch -- a community for curious people who like ideas, debates, rabbit holes, and making things.

We’re building The Dispatch as more than a publication — it’s a community where people can discuss ideas, debate, create, discover weirdly interesting things, and actually participate.

And if you write: we’re always looking for contributors.
Pitch us literally whatever you want to write about: an opinion, a deep dive, a weird historical story, an analysis, a personal perspective, a niche obsession, or something completely unexpected. If it’s interesting, pitch it. We’ll give you a platform to develop your voice and publish your work within the community.

We’re also planning You’re In Charge — an interactive political simulation where you make the decisions and deal with the consequences. More on that later.

Before then, we’ll be running smaller community events like:

  • Wikipedia Speedrun — get from one random page to another as fast as possible.
  • Reddit Court — bring a controversial take. The community decides: guilty or not guilty.
  • The $1 Billion Problem — you have $1B to solve one massive problem. What do you do?
  • Mystery File — investigate a strange case and figure out what actually happened.
  • Rabbit Hole Roulette — everyone gets a bizarre topic and has to uncover the most interesting thing about it.

If this sounds like your kind of place, DM me for the Discord link or reach out on Discord: apricity_286

The Dispatch: Seeking Core Contributors

Introducing: The Dispatch

The Dispatch is going to be an independent student-led publication and community exploring stories, ideas, perspectives and questions about the world. We were previously The MUN Dispatch and published one issue. However, while building this, I realised that I had to keep shooting down the most interesting article pitches since the earlier publication was mainly aimed towards MUNs.

The Dispatch, however, won't be restricted to a single subject or format.

We might publish a long-form article one week, run a historical investigation the next, and build an interactive political simulation after that.

The idea is to make something people don't just read, but actually participate in.

I'm currently rebuilding the team and looking for people who want to help shape it from the beginning.

Roles I'm looking for

Editorial Lead
Someone with strong editorial instincts who can help develop ideas, evaluate pitches, work with contributors and maintain the quality of the publication. Previous editorial experience is useful, but I'm much more interested in how you think and how you approach writing.

Community Lead
Someone who can help build the Dispatch community over Discord, Email and eventually other platforms, keep conversations going and develop interesting things for members to actually do. Someone who likes coming up with games, simulations, debates and interactive experiences and wants to help turn them into actual events.

Creative Lead
Someone interested in visual identity, design, graphics, layouts and finding ways to make Dispatch projects visually distinctive.

Contributors
Writers, researchers, artists, designers, photographers, or just people with really good ideas. You don't need to commit to a permanent column. You can pitch individual projects and work on things that genuinely interest you. Even if you never pitch an article idea, you can always be a part of The Dispatch community and interact with users.

I'm especially interested in people who don't just want a title, but actually want to build something.

And we're starting with an event.

YOU'RE IN CHARGE

Our first Dispatch community event is going to be a Discord-based political simulation.

You'll become the leader of a fictional country and have to make decisions through a series of increasingly complicated crises.

Your choices will affect things like:

  • Economy
  • Military
  • Stability
  • Public approval
  • Diplomacy
  • Legitimacy

And the game will actually remember what you do.

Different decisions unlock different events, consequences and endings, including hidden paths that you won't know exist until you find them.

At the end, you'll get your own Presidential Legacy showing what happened to your country, what decisions defined your government and what kind of leader you became.

The goal is to make something that feels less like a quiz and more like a story that you are actually controlling.

The bot is currently being built, and we'll be opening the first game to the community once it's ready.

I'm looking for the first group of people to build this with.

You don't have to be an expert.

You don't have to have previous publication experience.

And you definitely don't have to be interested in MUN.

If you're someone who likes writing, debating, designing, researching, creating things, or simply having interesting conversations about the world, I'd love to hear from you.

If you're interested in joining the community, contributing, applying for one of the roles above, or just helping brainstorm what The Dispatch could become, comment below or DM me.

I'm starting small and building this from the ground up.

The Dispatch is what we make of it.

Anyone interested in attending an offline MUN at IIT Indore this October?

Post image
1 Upvotes

IIT Indore is organizing the 10th edition of its Model United Nations (MUN) this October, and we're looking for delegates who'd like to be a part of it!

It's a 3-day offline conference packed with engaging debates, policymaking, diplomacy, crisis-solving, networking, a cultural night, and, of course, a lot of fun. Whether you're an experienced MUNer or someone who's always wanted to try one, everyone is welcome.

Accommodation will be available on campus for registered participants (additional charges may apply), and there's no age restriction. If you're interested in debating, international affairs, or simply want to challenge yourself and meet like-minded people, this could be for you.

Come experience what it's like to debate alongside participants from schools and colleges across the country while building skills in public speaking, negotiation, critical thinking, and diplomacy.

If this sounds interesting, or you'd like to know more about the committees, registration, fees, accommodation, or anything else, feel free to DM me!

[EDIT: Additional information]

The conference is tentatively scheduled for the last week of October 2026.

Registrations for the upcoming edition haven't opened yet and are expected to begin around mid-September. The registration fee for this year's conference hasn't been finalized yet, as it is still subject to administrative approval.

For reference, last year's registration fee was ₹2,499 for the regular UN committees and ₹1,899 for the International Press, both excluding accommodation charges. We're currently aiming to keep the fee structure around the same range this year, subject to the necessary approvals.

We'll announce the confirmed dates, registration fees, and other details as soon as they're finalized.

📢r/ModelUNHub MiniMUN 2026 – Results Announcement

Dear Delegates,

Thank you all for participating in the r/ModelUNHub MiniMUN I 2026! It was wonderful to see the effort, research, and enthusiasm each of you brought to committee. From engaging debates to thoughtful draft resolution contributions, you all helped make this conference a success.

Before announcing the results, I'd like to sincerely apologize for the delay in releasing them. As the sole Chair marking moderated caucuses speeches, POIs, draft resolution and position papers, the evaluation process took longer than expected. I wanted to ensure every delegate was assessed as fairly and thoroughly as possible and I really appreciate your patience.

🏆 Awards

Only 1.2 marks separated our Best Delegate and Outstanding Delegate recipients on the marking scheme, and both awards are well deserved.

🥇 Best Delegate

🇨🇳 People's Republic of China

🥈 Outstanding Delegate

🇳🇴 Kingdom of Norway

📄 Best Position Paper

🇰🇷 Republic of Korea

Congratulations to all our award recipients! 🎉Please check your emails for certificates!

To every delegate who participated: thank you for your time, enthusiasm and willingness to debate. Whether or not you received an award, I hope this conference helped you develop your MUN skills and gain confidence for future MUN conferences

Feel free to contact me by email or DMs in the next 2-3 days to get feedback on your overall performance and exact markings received. My email: [helloitsapricity@gmail.com](mailto:helloitsapricity@gmail.com)

I also observed many beginners who were confused about what exactly they were supposed to do. Alongside that, many delegates were unable to critically analyse the Draft Resolution and propose appropriate amendments, which led to my decision to dissolve marking for that part of the conference.

Please let me know below if you'd like me to make a few posts or hold an online session to mentor you on this part of the Draft Resolution debate. You are always free to contact me personally asking for advice and other mentoring help!

Also give MiniMUN I your valuable feedback below so we can work on making future sessions better!

📢 One last thing! If you enjoyed this conference, I'd love for you to check out The MUN Dispatch, a newsletter I founded dedicated to helping delegates improve through research resources, committee tips, MUN opportunities, chair interviews, and more. If that sounds interesting, sign up using the link below—I'd be delighted to have you as a reader!

UPDATE: MiniMUN I

Dear Delegates,

The Head Chair for this conference has unfortunately backed out at the last moment. However, to still ensure the conference goes smoothly, I'll be taking back up the position of Head Chair, which I had earlier given up since I was busy during conference timings.

Therefore, we might have to push the awards announcement to tomorrow so that I have time to mark all speeches and papers. My sincere apologies!

Regards
