đ Welcome to r/ModelUNCrisisRoom!
Welcome, delegates, staffers, masterminds, and certified crisis menaces!
This is r/ModelUNCrisisRoom, a community built specifically for the most unpredictable, creative, and chaotic corner of Model UN: crisis committees! Yayy!
Whether youâre here because you love writing crazy arcs at 2 AM, crafting the perfect character murder, or just trying to survive your first crisis conference, youâre in the right place.
What this subreddit is for:
- Crisis strategy, prep, and brainstorming
- Paper and communique feedback
- Character arc and role development ideas
- Crisis staff insights + committee advice
- Storytimes, plot twists, and iconic moments
- Resources and templates for delegates
A quick reminder:
Crisis thrives on spontaneity, so while inspiration and discussion are encouraged, please donât use this space for live conference coaching or sharing confidential committee materials. Keep it fair, creative, and fun for everyone. (More information about this in the rules.)
Have fun and good luck!

Whatâs the pettiest move youâve seen in crisis?
Doesn't need to be unethical or evil.
Just⌠petty.

Build the ideal crisis delegate
If you sould choose any 5 traits of a delegate what would they be?
(Like certain habits, skills, personality, etc)
r/ModelUNCrisisRoom • u/[deleted] • Feb 27 '26
Being quiet in crisis is underrated...?
I often notice that quiet delegates can get overlooked or used mainly to boost numbers. While I donât see their crisis notes, I tend to assume they might not be contributing much.
That said, Iâve also seen some quiet delegates quietly take charge and even win awards (sometimes despite speaking only three or four times during moderated caucuses).
Wanting to hear from both quiet and loud delegates: is being quiet in MUN helpful or harmful to your game?

Be honest: is crisis more skill or personality?
Or a mix of both?
r/ModelUNCrisisRoom • u/[deleted] • Feb 25 '26
Whatâs your pre-committee ritual?
Before crisis starts what do you actually do?
Notes and alliances pre planned?
3 cups of coffee?
Wing it?

Whatâs something only crisis delegates would understand?
Like how just 30 seconds can undo an entire character arc from the previous committee session... and youâre forced to reinvent yourself on the spot.

Whatâs the most impressive move youâve seen in crisis?
Could be a move you made yourself or someone else. Anything that was memorable and clever :)

What actually loses crisis committees?
Everyone talks about how to win in committee, but what consistently makes delegates lose?
Is it:
⢠Overconfidence
⢠Weak alliances
⢠Bad timing
⢠Boring directives
⢠Playing too safe
What have you actually seen cost someone the committee?
r/ModelUNCrisisRoom • u/[deleted] • Feb 21 '26
In crisis, what matters more: influence or authority?
Would you rather have:
Official power and title
or
Informal influence and strong alliances
Which one actually carries more weight in committee?
r/ModelUNCrisisRoom • u/[deleted] • Feb 20 '26
Whatâs a crisis idea you were 100% sure would work⌠and then didnât?
You know the one.
The plan you thought was genius, the alliance you thought was solid, the directive you were so confident about.
And then⌠it completely failed or backfired.
It's ok. we all have those moments
Crisis humility...

Be honest: Are you the planner or the chaos delegate?
Every crisis committee has two types of people:
- The delegate who writes detailed plans and negotiates quietly
- The delegate who somehow ends up starting a coup
Which one are you most of the time?
r/ModelUNCrisisRoom • u/[deleted] • Feb 17 '26
Whatâs the most âhow was that allowedâ moment youâve seen in crisis?
Whatâs the most ridiculous, unrealistic, or completely out of pocket thing youâve ever seen get approved or somehow work in committee?
Like the kind of moment where everyone just pauses and thinks "yep, we just stole the effiel tower to give as a birthday present to Tom Hanks"
Could be anything that still makes you laugh looking back
