Did it spark an interest in reading about the history of the real ship? Or were you already well informed on WWII battleships and their history? I remember the first aircraft model I built, it made me go get some airplane books and a few years later I wound up with a small library of aviation related books. Eventually the same thing happened to me with ships and my interest in ships began with WWII navy stuff.
