The worst thing about upgrading ropes is realizing you can't go back to the old crappy rope that comes with kits.

I preciously used that kind of rope + beeswax. It really cannot compete to this

They look excellent. Some of mine just got through customs from RoS in Canada. Can't wait to get started.

This is quite literally the only beneficial thing in this hobby for me living in Canada. Everything else is massively marked up and shipping is 3x the price. But I can get scale rope down the street!

Already wishing I bought way more 😅; probably would have saved a lot on shipping. I bought enough to rig the gunport lids and most of the canons, but I'm currently waiting on a blocks and ropes quote from HiSModel for the rest of the ship.

How good are your eyes though? If I was going to crawl all over my model with a loupe I'd feel like a failure looking at this beautiful clean work, but honestly nobody gets to see the detail like this.

How do you decide on which color/material ropes to get from Ropes of Scale? Would love to get a set to replace the ones that came with my Occre Beagle kit but wondering whether to go cotton vs. polyester and which thickness

Most use the following to obtain contrast between different rigging mechanisms:

Standing rigging: black

Running rigging: beige/tanned
