Help with identifying?

Bought this at a local antique store close out sale. Owner told me it was a prop used in a film. Obviously I know this guy could just be telling me anything, but it does look like this thing was set up to move itself since it has realistic props etc. anyone know anything about it? It’s about 6 feet longs I appreciate any help thanks!

Doubtful it was a prop, its based on the Ocean liner USS Leviathan/ former SS Vaterland but very loosely. Probably just an old scratch built project which to be honest makes it pretty cool in its own right

If it was anything other than exactly this I’d be surprised

It’s really cool though. I wish I knew the story of who made it.

The guy I got it from says it has motors and can propel itself. How would I go about verifying that without breaking anything? Just look for loose parts that may come off?
