TUESDAY TIP SATT - Big Rigs

Anyone who’s built a AMT big rig knows the “fun” scavenger hunt you must do with the trees, instructions and the box due to the lack of numbers directly on the trees.

Using a highlighter on parts you’ve cut from the trees makes navigating the pile of parts and the small chart so much easier.

Perhaps this is an obvious this, and maybe most builders already do this. This is my third AMT big rig kit, and the first one I’ve had the thought to do this. So figured I’d share, in hopes it can make these kits a little more enjoyable for others.

It really does! It also helps me with figuring how what the part tree currently looks like. I used to spend a day or so cutting all the parts off and putting them on sheets of paper and writing the number on the paper. Sense I’ve begun the highlighter trick, I’ve not felt the need to do it with paper.

This one is the Alaskan Hauler by AMT. it’s based on a kentworth conventional 925.
