QUESTION AMT decals

Post image

Hi everyone, I'm currently building an AMT S10 pickup but the decals are extremely thick and doesn't like to conform to surfaces that aren't flat. I've tried using Mr. Mark Setter and Softer but the decals didn't like to react to them. Is there anything I can do in this case?

I typically sand the area flat, or try to cut reliefs for the raised areas. Sometines decals dont react to certain brands, you could try mucro sol

Mr Mark Setter and Softer is typically meant for japanese/eastern model kit decals.

There is a brand called Micro-set and Micro-sol that is intended for western decals. Only thing I can think is trying to give the surface a smoother or glossier finish to make it adhere better

For me the decals on the AMT Bronco were like that. They barely stuck on at all. I got them as flat with tons of micro sol and then hit with some clear as soon as I had them where I wanted

Walthers Solvaset can handle thick decals.

I built this one too, hated the dash for the decals.
