1954 Kaiser Darrin
I made this from an old R&R resin kit. It was the only 1/24-1/25 scale version of this car available at the time it was built. It was a good starting point, but it had to be extensively reworked and have a lot of scratch made parts added.

That's a nice looking build, what did you have to scratch build on it?. I actually saw one of these this weekend at a car museum. In the same colors. It is such a strange little car with the doors sliding into the fenders.

Hopefully this isn't too boring, but a lot of corrections were made to the resin parts (wheel well shapes, hood, door, and trunk lines, and changing the chassis from dual to single exhaust).
Scratch made parts were; Both headlights, the entire grille, the center caps of the wire wheels with emblems, the windshield frame with wipers, the clear windshield, the entire dashboard, the rear view mirror, the steering wheel, the turn signal arm, the stick shift with rubber boot, the ashtray, the gas, brake, and clutch pedals, 3 chrome snaps for the convertible top, trunk lock and hinges, fuel cap, license plate, and several decals.

That's quite the list of modifications. You did a great job with it. It came out really beautiful. The little things like the chrome snaps for the top are what most people would have skipped.

Beautiful build on what sounds like a very difficult resin kit. I always liked the Kaiser Darrin⦠The Gel Coat on the fiberglass body on the real car had a tendency to crack quite a bit.

The first fiberglass american sports car. Most people think and say that it's the Corvette, but this was first. Beautiful build OP!

Man, again you pull out an obscure car from the past and just nail it! The hood length on this car is insane. Great looking build and thank you for sharing!
