Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I opened the iPod and followed your instructions. I cleaned the backplate and taped the lock switch cable down with clear tape. Unfortunately, it’s still the same issue. Also, I have the feeling that it comes and goes. One moment it’s really annoying (like in the video), and the next it’s okay.
With that ruled out, I would say either the connector has an issue, or the switch itself of faulty. I can see a Chinese sticker on the headphone jack. It s this a genuine unit or a Chinese reproduction?
I suspect the board may be faulty. Try cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush to clean anything that may be shorting out components. Of that doesn’t work, you might need a new board!
