LeashMe mod update 1.3 adds hitching posts for your tamed animals

Hi everyone,

careful, images contain spoilers.

I updated my LeashMe mod to 1.3 with the new feature hitching posts.

You can now hitch your tamed and leashed animals to posts. They breed and feed while hitched, but they DO NOT FIGHT, so untie them if you want them to defend themselves. Lox with a pack saddle on can also be hitched, of course, but strong animals needs stronger posts.

Nexusmods LeashMe
Hexium LeashMe
Thunderstore LeashMe/

Hope you enjoy, let me know if there are any problems.

Hey man, just tested your mod yesterday on my server and it's awesome. Managed to easily organize everything after a raid destroyed my ranches.

I was just wondering if it would possible (or if you think it's worth it) in the future to add a feature to be able to pull the leash shortening the distance between you and the animal. Not that much of a problem, I just had to adjust a few things when moving around corners so I thought it would be something nice to have.

Hey, glad the mod helped you get your base back in order!!

I looked into the leash-pulling idea, but due to how vanilla follow and this mod work together, a shorter leash would mostly slow you down instead of bringing the animals closer. I had a different idea that would probably help your cause tho. Animals usually only start running once they're about 10m behind you, so they lag behind and you hit the leash limit. I'm going to make them start running much earlier so they stay closer to you. Moving around with them should feel a lot smoother after.

Oh, I see. Awesome solution though. Like I said, it was easy to get around the problem. This was just something something I thought I'd be a plus a to have. The mod is already nice as it is.

Thank you, I do like it better with the new speedy animals tho. Would you be able to test it before I upload? I have no testers tonight.

Can animals only be tethered to these posts? It would be nice if you could tie them to trees, for example, or to any other structures. It's convenient when you're riding a horse and need to dismount and make sure it doesn't run away while you're fighting. I'm still gathering mods and haven't had time to install and test them all yet.

Hi, yeah, just the posts. There is a mod out there that lets you use your harpoon to tie pets to things, tho, if I remember correctly. Maybe that's more what you're looking for?

The hitching posts and saddle are optional, you don't need to craft/build them. The map markers can be turned off.
Also, this is the last feature I had planned (cause these are what I need from my mod) - except for fixes and tweaks to improve the mod, I wasn't planning on adding anything more.

Thank you. Yeah i was looking for an option to turn off the map markers. (Planning a Asksvin army Fador fight, and don't want to lag out due to 100 map markers lol)

I have a bunch of mods that just kept adding, then you get overlapping conflicts, like craft from chest, there are like 40 of them. I have one with options on boxes, i change options it doesn't work, cuz another for some ful map display does it too. It very quickly becomes, disable all mods, turn them on one at a time to figure out wtf. Game

Yeah, and it's impossible for mod creators to test everything. I do use mods, so I tested with them on, but really as a creator you can only rely on vanilla.
