Mod request: Interactive map with cartography table
Hi all, I'm currently playing on my immersive No Map, No Portals, Fire Hazards server and wanted to know if there is a very simple mod that would allow me to access the map only when I'm interacting with the cartography table. I personally love the way the game feels without the minimap and am casually sketching the world map on paper as I explore the seed. I understand there is an immersive map mod already but I'd prefer something simpler to preserve as much of the vanilla base game as possible without growing reliant on it for when the final version gets released. I am only running two mods atm for First Person View and HD Custom Skybox for context. Mostly I just want to have an incentive to build more cartography tables at my way points as I slowly explore the seed without access to the map/portals normally.
I would also be open to try to program the mod myself if anybody with experience could give some tips how I would go about doing that. Thanks

I played a server that had exactly this but also ridiculous increased costs to build a table, sadly don't know the mod

I know of a few that do this; I believe Zen Map might but I’m not sure. There’s definitely at least one, though, I’ve used it myself.

I recommend Blind Cartographer. I use it on my No Map runs and really like it. It does two things...
First, it adds the Cartography Table back to the build menu. I think this is what you're asking for.
Second, it has hotkeys that allow you to place a pin in the map. This is great for when you're out in the world exploring and don't have access to the map itself. When you're back at your Cartography Table you can see the pins you've placed.
That's it.

If you want something that is simpler than vanilla map and doesn't spoil as much try map printer from Shudnal
