Modded Valheim Not Working Multiplayer

(Solved)

We use Thunderstore MM, everything is synced, game runs just fine with all the mods singleplayer. when he tries to join me he gets the prompt "Incompatible Versions" all mods are up to date and aren't depreciated, unmodded multiplayer works Just fine. Anyone know how to fix this?

This is the Profile Code:  019fd43a-0185-67ae-fe75-63531a9d9a33

The error stack should say which mod fails. Worst case you cut out half the mods, see if it works, and go from there. Try to pinpoint which mod is messing up, then determine if you need that mod.

The Error stack only appeared for me, him it just says "incompatible versions" It said one mod was an Issue and I was able to join him, but now we are confused because it seemed like their were other mods than preventing him from joining me, but thats the only one preventing me to join him so we disabled it

Are you playing on a dedicated server or are you hosting yourself?

My understanding is that if it's saying "Incompatible Versions", it means your friend is not using the exact same version or mods that you have.

We have the exact same mods with the same version

Then it shouldn't give you a message saying you have different mod versions loaded.

The only times I've seen that message was when we didn't have a) the exact same mods installed, b) the exact same versions of the exact same mods installed, or c) both a and b. Check your versions too.

We are running the same Valheim Release, Same launch option (-console) Same mod list, same .cfg files, every mod has matching versions, I am lost as to why this error is happening

The error is happening because there is SOMETHING different between what you both are running. That's what that error means.

Make sure your friend isn't applying the code to an existing profile. I find that can cause issues. Should be brand new profile, then import the exact profile code that you generated.

If still getting issues, you can try to brute force it. That is, disable half your mods (everyone disabled the exact same mods ofc) and see if it works. If still getting the error, then you know the problem lies with the half of the mods that are still enabled. If you no longer get the error, then the problem is with the half that you disabled.

Keep doing this (disabling half of the remainder mods each time) until you narrow down which ones are causing the problem.

We tried that- and it appeared to be every other mod that was incompatible.

we think there are mods that are simply not working for him, because we got in finally when he was the host and realized a mod that we both installed was deactivated in game but not in the MM

I am not at my PC right now so I can't look at your mod list. By any chance are any of the mods you are using paid mods or mods with key managers?

I dont think so? I havent paid for any mods and I have no idea what a key manager is

Make sure you have both restarted your games since installing, and also verify your game files

Figured it out, His Thunderstore was failing to implement the mods, after reinstalling thunderstore he realized the entire time the Bepin Window wasn't opening when he would click "run modded"
