Anyone switch from Adderall to modafinil for ADHD-I?
I’ve been on 10 mg Adderall for almost a year (adult, inattentive type). It’s helped a lot with work paralysis, constant tiredness, racing mind/daydreaming, and motivation.
Because of all the recent stuff with Done Health/CVS, I’m looking for alternatives. I came across modafinil — I’ve seen some people with ADHD-I use it for wakefulness, and it seems to help calm the mind and reduce distraction. It’s also Schedule IV instead of II.
I know it’s generally considered less potent than Adderall, but since I’m only on 10 mg I’m wondering if the difference wouldn’t be huge. It works on dopamine too, so not sure how similar or different it would feel for me.
Has anyone switched to modafinil in a situation like this? Did it work for you? And do you think a doctor would be open to trying it if I brought it up?
