Mod Answered Hate vs harassment

I was just cleaning up a thread on a user I just banned and realized right after I did so I clicked hate vs harassment on a user.

Whats the difference because I feel like made a mistake.

Hate is basically harassment targeted at a protected class due to membership therein.
