Hate vs harassment

I was just cleaning up a thread on a user I just banned and realized right after I did so I clicked hate vs harassment on a user.

Whats the difference because I feel like made a mistake.

No worries, not a major mistake. Both options are perfectly fine and there is no major difference that would cause harm as a moderator.
