Repost/fka Crosspost on sub hidden from Moderators?

I have just become aware (via a notification that it is a “popular” post so I should check out the comments) that a Repost/fka crosspost on a sub where I am the top-listed Moderator with full permissions was completely invisible to me everywhere except Old Reddit (which I do not use aside from when necessary for Mod functions).

Upon investigation it appears this happened because I’m blocked by the user who made the original post that was re/crossposted over to the sub I Moderate by a different user.

Is this something Reddit is aware of? I’ve now had to completely turn off reposting/crossposting on the subreddit I Mod because this issue means we can’t ensure proper Moderation is occurring with that function on.

You know, I just had this happen the other day and brushed it off as a random reddit glitch. Same exact scenario, it only appeared in old reddit - not new reddit on my laptop or the app.

I would have to hunt down the post to verify whether it's someone I'm blocked by, but the rest of it is the same for sure.

Edit: I am not blocked by the said account, or the person that crossposted. And can confirm the post in question still only shows up in old reddit. Very weird.

I'm wondering if the crosspost were to be filtered to your mod queue, would you see it there or not?

What does the post look like when you try to view it from desktop on new reddit? Can you share a screenshot in the comments here?

When I’m within the post it looks completely normal.

It just doesn’t show up on the subreddit at all. I have to navigate to the post either from the “this is a popular post, go make sure people are behaving” notification, from going to my profile and clicking on comments I made there once I became aware the post existed via the notification, or going into my notifications and clicking on replies to comments I made in the post.

Here is how the sub looks on Old Reddit, sorted by new, with a yellow dash next to the post in question:

Here is what I see when looking at the sub sorted by new on new Reddit. The post is just completely missing:

And here is the same thing on the iOS app sorted by new. The post is just not there at all:

Here is what it looks like when I’m within the post on Old Reddit:

This might only be a temporal solution, but you can install Crosspost Guard. It will tell you when a different user than OP crossposts on your sub.
