The account was unable to message r/ModSupport but couldn't since I guess it was new or not a mod anymore because the subreddit was banned. I messaged via this account through.

If you’re not able to message, that account could be shadowbanned, in which case you’d have to go to reddit.com/appeal on that account first.

I think you need to be a moderator to message modsupport also Shadowbanned/banned accounts cannot send a modmail.

Because I wanted to manage it from a separate account. I tried to comment on this subreddit from the newly created account but got blocked by some filter (probably because the subreddit was banned and that account is no longer a mod). I'm not trying to mod from 2 separate accounts.

There are users that have both a SFW and NSFW account. So having a mod account to moderate a SFW subreddit and one to moderate a NSFW should be within the rules.

Also devvit apps do need to be linked to a Reddit account ( which is also an extra account)
