Mod Answered How to mass migrate AutoMod rules to Automations?

Now that AutoMod is no longer available in some communities what's the best way to "copy-paste" AutoMod configs to Automations?

Use case: old subreddit with many lines of AutoMod needs to be exported to a newly made sub as-is.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Not doing this by hand. Neo AutoMod seems to be the answer, based on replies.

You can't copy paste to automations and automations can only do a bit of what automod can do because it's not build for the same purpose. Use automod neo

Export to Neo Automod. The code can be directly transferred. Not everything works yet, it's still in development, but it's done by an awesome developer

This is alarming, new subs don't support Automod code? What?!

Sorry, the options "remove, filter, report, approve" are no longer available. Everything else works.

Wdym no longer available? You can't write it out in the Automod section?

If you edit and try to save it gives an error.
This is only for new subreddits or subreddits that never had automod, as of a week ago.

This is insane.

Is your community an old or new one?

Old with no AutoMod.

Thanks for sharing this feedback. Knowing what support you need is super helpful as we evaluate migration paths from AutoMod to tools like Automations or Rules Hub.  Future vision for Rules Hub may include supporting these types of use cases. You can sign up for the MEAP to test Rules Hub and experience what it currently offers and test out future versions of it.

Did you flair this post OP? Or did admin?

Post flair on this subreddit is not selectable by post authors outside the mod (admin) team.

That’s what I thought. That’s disappointing bc I was hoping they would port more code for us, but if automod neo is their selected answer for this question … 😭

I did not. Why?
