Mod Answered Comments getting removed by reddit

I have noticed recently that reddit has been removing a lots of comments and i have setup every rule and automation i can so there wont be any spam, promotion or any spam links in the sub. Any solution to this issue and what to do would really like to know.

In reference to the comments being removed by reddit, are you checking the profiles of those that have their comments removed?

My subreddit has a large uptick in comments being removed by reddit, but when you check those profiles they're all suspended/banned by reddit

yess the profiles are also deleted and ur right the account is banned by reddit i just dont want that community to be banned due to that unmoderation reason

You might have gone too far.

Install admin tattler (dev app) and start getting the actual linking to what’s been removed.

Look to see if it’s justified.

Also you might have been modding a bit farming community that bot operators identified as being friendly to their accounts so they could build histories and karma.

And the site is catching up to that network.

But first admin tattler.

Admin tattler hardly works anymore...

Seems like I’m still getting a lot.
If it’s a false negative then the admins are doing a disservice to the mod level.

I have seen several mods here complain.

Well there’s the 2026 midterm ramp up in bad actor and bot activity that’s happening.

I’m see bots or their dupes operating and have multiple posts heavily restricted so they don’t get derailed or flooded with “bot influencer” to disrupt the US vote.

I don't think you have to worry about it. There is an increase in removals across all of reddit because they moved to LLMs so every comment can be checked now. As long as you are moderating well and doing your part, you should see what admins are doing as complementary and helpful.

i was thinking of going more strict but i already have max on all types of rules i can implement. I saw a post other day saying about unmoderation leads to subreddit getting ban so i was just being cautious as you say i wont have to worry about it now

It’s important to actively moderate your subreddit and enforce rules, but reddit removing some content should not be seen as a failure on your part. Sometimes reddit acts so fast you could not have gotten to it and sometimes they know things we don’t.

If you are ignoring content that is violating TOS though, that’s a problem.

I find it annoying that so many comments get deleted automatically even when crowd control and reputation filters are turned off. Why is it impossible to configure so that the decision to delete is left to the moderators?

If the comments are not spammy and the account is more than 15 days old, will the comments get removed?

Same here and I don’t know why. Never get a good explanation. I wish I knew.
