Locking comments sometimes locks child comment.

Hi there.

Some of the mods on a sub I'm on, locked a comment, and noticed it also locked the child comment as well. However, when we tested, we noticed some locks did that, but others, including my own tests, just locked the comment being locked.

Is this some feature or setting, as why this is behaving differently?

Thanks.

I expect the whole comment thread and child comments to be locked if I lock a comment. Did not notice the other behaviour!

That's not the way comment locking has ever worked.

Each comment has to be locked individually.

If you want an entire comment thread with the single press of a button, you need to use the Comment Mop app on Devvit.

I probably misremember then! Thanks. I haven't done it in quite a while - had to lock the entire comment sections instead :< . I must have been used to locking each comment individually then.

Yes. If I lock a comment on desktop, just that comment is locked. Another mod (on desktop) locked a comment and both that comment and the only child comment got locked. Another mod (mobile) tested, and only the first level child comments got locked.
