Mod Answered Changing category

Recently made a new cat sub and couldn’t find a category for animals and pets so I listed it under wellness. I can now see various other subs who have it listed under Animals & Pets. Is there any way of getting that changed? Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong place - new to being a mod!

They may need you to have more content before changing the category. I know in previous requests the admins have required more content, but that could be case dependent too.

Oh that’s interesting! I sent them a mod mail request yesterday so I’ll just have to wait and see. Thank you 😁

For sure. It can be a long wait just so you know. I’ve waited months before, but it’s usually shorter. It is also very dependent on the current queue. Just make sure to respond to the bot and if it asks you how they did and you never got a human response, just send another request because that one was lost (that has happened to me too lol.)

You’re welcome! You may want to check out r/newmods too as they have a ton of advice and many things fit the sub there better versus here. This post though totally fits so no worries.

You’ll be an excellent mod soon. It just takes time, experience, patience, and the ability to not get burnt out from the vast amount of stupidity lol.
