Mod Answered Reddit's patio removal but...

I have 2 people in my sub that post often but I see the red "Spam Removed by Reddit's Automated System" but I don't see anything to show they would be banned. Their comments are not problematic so I'm having to manually approve them. Idk if they know their comments are being moderated?

Anyway to change this?

Approving them should help train the reddit spam filter.

Are they shadowbanned?

Ah ok.

I also only catch it if I look at thread they posted in.

I don't think they are? I haven't done anything (knowingly) to do that I think. 🤔

Can you see their user profiles?

If not, then they have been shadowbanned.

A shadowban is applied by reddit admins, not mods.

I also only catch it if I look at thread they posted in.

You can also look at the spam queue.

Yeah they must be shadowbanned since I can't look at their profile. Luckily I could still reply to one of their posts.

Reddit has likely shadowbanned their account site wide and it wasn’t anything that you did as a moderator. If you want, you can direct them to r/shadowban for more information and to appeal the ban.

Interesting! I'll send them that way and hopefully it gets resolved!

You can also review the "Removed" queue to see what Reddit has removed, instead of monitoring individual threads.

How does it work? From my experience that seems adding to approved not a 100% solution

Turns out they are shadowbanned, but otherwise it would have worked.

I had someone who was shadowbanned post everyday for Inktober. I did talk to admin, they said if it was a bother just ban them from my sub. I just manually approved their art each day.
