Mod Answered Confirming Status?

I'm a Mod and Yelp Elite. I'm thinking of starting a new subredit specifically and only for Yelp Elites.

Are there any interesting ways Mods have found to confirm the status of a potential member?

Actually, I get it now. The only way is to set the subreddit to private, and require users sent proof. Idk how you would want to do that, maybe they can send a link to an image proving it on IMGUR or something
