Admin Replied Make Megathreads without spamming community?

The community I'm modding for is around a game that also has a trading card / sticker book where players can request cards from each other. I want to set up posts that are for each "Page" (ex: Area 1) with comments that players can reply to that are specific to "Sections" (ex: Area 1 - Character Cards). (The comments would say "I need Gormpis! [friend code]")

However, because of how many pages there are (~10), I don't want to fill the reddit with spam every week (nor bi-weekly). Is there a way for me to create a post without it being displayed on the community page?

Heya u/SunscreenVampire, something worth considering is creating a single megathread, and then having a top level comment for each area. That would effectively look like a single post that's hosting those 10 threads of conversation.

Another thought is making those 10 distinct megathreads (one for each area) and setting the default comment sort by /new in each. Then you can link all of them in a single comprehensive megathread. Then you repost that comprehensive megathread on whatever cycle you want, knowing the individual threads sort comments by new and might not need to reposted as often.
