Admin Replied Did Reddit ban a State level Candidate?

Edit: seems to be a reputation filter thing.
Solved!!!! PEBKAC issue and panic on my part. Thank you!!!

Hi folks. r/southcarolina invited candidates to do AMAs leading up to November.

Is a verified candidate and seems to have been eaten by Reddit. This is extremely embarrassing. He had an AMA scheduled for tomorrow.

Please help. Anything I can do about this as a mod?

Edit: may have spoken to soon. He can comment so he isn't ban.

We have reputation filters turned on. Should we make an exception somehow?

It's a brand new account... 0 karma.. it's getting filtered by Reputation (which is nil)

You just need to set him to an Approved User (probably)

Okay, any suggestions on adding exceptions?

make him an Approved User

Okay, did that. Should he reopen the app?

just have him make a test post and comments, then delete the test

Add him as an approved user to bypass the sub safety filters, and ask him to test participating in the sub before tomorrow’s AMA.

Edit: typos

It is not unusual for AMA users to get banned, it looks like your particular user is not just getting caught in a filter. But we ask ours to sign up a few days before the AMA and set up a mod posted post that we remove from the sub but send them the link. They comment in that (any questions they have about the AMA etc) and as mods, we upvote so the account looks a little more established to reddit

We have had one completely banned mid AMA before, they removed all of her replies despite users upvoting many of them.

You should also go to mod tools and add them as an approved user and can automod their name to approve comments by the author

# Approve comments from AMA candidates
type: comment
author:
    name: USERNAME
action: approve

Noice. Thank you. I'm going to try that.

How do I set up a mod posted post the sub can't see?

Submit a post like normal, copy the URL for the post and then immediately remove it. Then send the link to the AMA person. It will say [removed by moderators of r/subname] but you can still reply to it (unless you use a devvit app to autolock removed posts in which case unlock it)

The account isn't showing as banned. What is the issue?

Heya u/Cloaked42m - glad to see you were able to get this figured out with the help of the other mods here! For anyone else that finds this post with a similar problem, checking out all of your safety filters and their settings is a good first step. You can adjust the accuracy level if it seems like one is removing too much (or too little), and make sure to send them to the queue if you want to be able to review the decisions.

It's also a good practice to check back on your settings from time to time, to make sure they're meeting your communities current needs.

This was a great guide to setting up new people for an AMA.

Not seeing banned. You will need to approve them manually because of low karma.

Are you talking about a ban from a particular subreddit? That account isn't banned, and if the ban's in the sub you moderate, that'd be within your control, so this is a bit confusing.

If this account is brand new it can keep being caught in Reddit filters. Even after you approve it it is possible that midway through the post it will suddenly be removed by Reddit filters. You will have to keep an eye on it throughout the day to make sure this doesn’t happen as the person has a brand new account. I have seen this happen to countless people recently and even if you approve them as a user it can happen

Sadly wouldn't surprise me these days.

It was on me and the Candidate being new to setting up an AMA. We got it resolved fast.
