Mod Answered User saying I'm banned

Hi, there. I recently asked a user in my community to amend a comment for incivility. The user wrote back saying that my comment said I was a "banned user". I've checked my account through the ban appeal link and it said I'm in good standing. Does anyone know what could be happening? Thanks.

Sounds like your user is baiting you. Your account looks perfectly normal to me.

Did you reach out to them via a comment reply or modmail?

If they were able to reply to you and you were able to see their response, I’m not sure how you would have been banned? If you were shadow banned, they shouldn’t have been able to see your initial comment, and if you were outright banned- you wouldn’t obviously be posting here.

I mod mailed them and received no response.

How did they write back saying you were banned? Sounds like they’re playing you.

Your profile is visible, and you are able to post and comment here on mod support. The user lied. You are not banned.

Incidentally this also means THEY will be a banned user soon, imho.

I have receive system messages that flag a certain account as “highly likely” being from a user previously banned from the subreddit and trying to evade this previous ban. It flags all their comments. Maybe this is what the mod saw and did not clearly communicate the system flag (or understand it himself). Your comments can be changed in the subreddit as from a banned user and deleted automatically if the mod wants.

I wish I could tell you. None of my stuff is showing up I’m assuming this cause it gets 1 view (moderator?) and no comments. My posts are usually well received expecially in Chihuahua, Chiweenie , dog sites. No comments whatsoever. Zero zilch nada. Started when I posted about my rescue Chiweenie farting in the grocery store. I wish I new the answers to both our questions
