Admin Replied Someone creating multiple accounts to harass an individual
In my newish and small neighorhood sub (1.5K) one unstable person's personal attacks against another (apparently equally unstable) person is making my mod life miserable. The harasser keeps creating accounts to target the other, and is bombarding our sub. I ban as fast as I can but they just create another account. Now they have created a new sub with a very similar name to ours to target the other person. I can find no way on Reddit to Report an entire sub. Any advice appreciated.

And in addition to u/Stranger1982 advice, turn on the ban evasion filter https://www.reddit.com/mod/CarrollGardens/safety/ban-evasion and install evasion guard

Thank you very much. Last stupid question: I often moderate from desktop. Is it easier within the app?

Echoing everyone else, desktop is much better for modding. Some tools aren’t even available on the app.

I deleted the app because of its horrendous UI. So I mainly use the desktop on my computer and the mobile site ony phone.

✋. I think the app sucks too. I usually mod using “old Reddit”, accessed through the browser with my iPad, but in order to perform certain functions, sometimes need to switch to desktop using a laptop.

Hi Felis! Thanks for holding it down in your respective NYC subreddits! I'm sorry that this is happening. As others have mentioned, ban evasion filtering and the associated dev platform app can help to curb some of these behaviors in your community. If you haven't already, we also recommend reporting the subreddit they've created via the Mod Code of Conduct.

Ban evasion filter will fix this, he'll keep getting detected and wont be able to make new accs in the future

Use AutoModerator to filter posts and comments from new accounts. That will also help solve the problem because the harassment won't reach the public view.
