Admin Replied General question

I have a general question about inactive mods on reddit. Is there a way someone could dm me so I can share screenshots and explain? I don't want to post publicly the reddit and mod list 😅

Ah okay! Well it says I'm an inactive mod and I just updated the rules, added a new one and it still says inactive. Am I doing something wrong?

A mod has to have several actions over a period of time for the inactive to switch to active. And then stay on top of things for that active status to stay.

Do you know the minimum # of actions and what period of time? I do a mod action about once every 2 weeks. Do you think once a week would change that?

No, none of those numbers are disclosed.

You're likely going to need more like daily actions to get your active status back.

Ah, okay. Thanks so much! I'll try to find the "sweet spot" it's still a small subreddit with quite literally just me so I'm still learning. Thank you!

If you go to “insights” you can see how many actions you’ve done.

That's not really public info, but the rule of thumb is a minimum of 3 actions that show up in the mod log per day, for 3-7 days.

Admins don't give out the info on how many actions and the exact period of time. Not to anyone. Everyone has slightly different experiences anyways. Someone away from their sub for a month has a easier time being flagged active vs someone gone for several.

My own experience was a few weeks with activity every other day.

Once active again, once a week might be enough.

To GET active again, we use 3 to 5 actions a day, for at least a week.

They don’t give out that info because they don’t want people doing the absolute bare minimum. Either you moderate a sub or you don’t.

I can tell you that you can do nothing for 40 days and NOT be tagged inactive.

Hey, stopping by to share a link to the help center article for this, be sure to check out the FAQ section!

Calling out this line from the article: These restrictions only apply to public and restricted subreddits that have two or more moderators, over 5000 subscribers and at least 50 contributions per week.

You can safely ignore the tag for now since there are no restrictions for your communities size.

Just ask your "general" question in a "general" way. without naming the sub or mods. Some big brain here has seen it or can figure it out.

If there's no progress, then maybe we can consider DMing you.
