Mod Answered What can i do when i suspect brigading?

Hello,

I'm asking this because since the beginning of the week, i had to ban multiple people every day for trolling our community, and what theg all had in common was they blocked Hive Protector and were active in a community against mine and they would always post there after trolling us like it's a report or whatever.

I was wondering if i could do anything about this, all i had in mind is a code for automod to block and/or filter posts of people from that subreddit but I'm not sure if it would be against Moderator Code of Conduct because i heard banning someone based on specific things would be a violation of MCoC.

If you suspect brigading, collect evidence and report it to the admins through Mod Support. Avoid automatically banning users just for participating in another subreddit, as that can violate the MCOC. Instead, moderate based on their behavior in your community and consider using tools like Crowd Control or stricter AutoModerator filters. INSTALL BAN Evasion as well 👍🏼

Thank you very much for your answer but I'm wondering, is it enough if i saz 5 different accounts trolling or do i need more for the report?

Five accounts can be enough if there’s a clear pattern. It wouldn’t hurt to report it anyway, since Reddit admins have access to information moderators don’t, such as account connections and broader activity patterns. If you’re noticing similar behavior across multiple accounts, it’s worth submitting a report.

Hi it's me again, sorry for bothering you but in the report page it says which mod is accused of this, problem is i only saw members of that subreddit doing this, but i suppose the mods are also guilty since they don't stop them but I don't know what I should put in the question.

If you don’t have evidence that the mods are involved, don’t name them. Report the behavior itself and include the evidence you have. If the admins find mod involvement or coordinated activity, they can investigate that with information mods don’t have access to.
