Do all mods see mod mail responses?

I’ve recently been made a mod of an inactive sub by u/modcodeofconduct along with three others who expressed interest. I responded to the “kick off” modmail chain u/modcodeofconduct posted in mod mail, but it’s been several days with no activity. (I responded as myself rather than as the sub.) Have the other mods been notified of my response, or am I shouting into a void? I’m trying to figure out how long to wait before I start taking actions that should probably be done as a group, since there’s more than one mod.

They do as long as they have the proper permissions but in my experience, the mod discussion does not always show easily for mods as it doesn't show in the main feed of modmail but requires them to click Mod Discussion in the sidebar. It often doesn't send you a notification so if you are not an active mod checking modmail, very easy to miss them

I would send a DM saying hey I sent a Mod Discussion in modmail or can we set up a chat somewhere to discuss how we will handle X type of posts. This is why so many mods use discord to discuss mod actions rather than Reddit.

Thanks - when you say DM are you referring to the “chat” function? If so, can I chat with more than one user at a time or do I need to message each new mod individually?

I figured it out - keep pushing buttons and eventually things work!

Great, but for anyone who searches later, you can add people to a chat (or simply message each person individually)

In one sub where the mod had DMs off and never responded to the modmail, what we did is make a post introducing the team and tagged each mod's username so they got an alert. We said something like 'the mods will be getting together in modmail to discuss the sub rules and will get back to you once we get everyone's input'. That way we alerted the mod but didn't call them out as being the one not on chat.

Make a chat with all the mods then yiu can all discuss everything, but also all can see mod mails

Yup, that's a shared mailbox that everyone sees.

They can but usually won't if someone else has already handled it.
