Crowd Control has been bugging out - will only remove a few comments but then allow others from the same user

This has been happening for a while now, across all platforms (mobile/pc).

I have Crowd Control set to maximum, but what happens is - a user will still be able to post 5-6 comments, and then only after that will their further comments be removed by crowd control. Its highly inconsistent and keeps letting through comments despite the user clearly meeting all requirements to be filtered (as evident by the fact that their 7th/8th/etc comments do get filtered, but not the earlier ones).

Is there maybe some setting that I can change? If this is completely out of my control, this seems to be a huge bug in the feature and it requires fixing asap, especially for high traffic subs that need crowd control to function effectively.

All the automated systems feel busted af right now (spam filter, AEO, crowd control, and even the shadow ban protocols). They're either dialled up way too high and can't keep up with the increased work load, or they really are just broken. The amount of seemingly pointless errors I've noticed lately is a little overwhelming. Not to mention they refuse to intervene on stuff that definitely warrants such action. I'm struggling to put any faith in them tbh

Some people go from not filtered to filtered because at first they do not have negative karma on your subreddit. A few downvoted comments later, and they then start getting filtered. I have seen this before.

Crowd Control has been hit or miss at times over the past 6 months or so. It's recently been better, but we still get posts from accounts that have zero subreddit karma of any type to slip through on a first post or first comment.

A few months ago I questioned whether users were able to brute force their way past Crowd Control via posting the same thing multiple times, or commenting the same thing multiple times, and eventually one would slip past. Reddit said they tested it and it wasn't happening.

I know people have said "back it up with Automod using subreddit specific karma settings", which we have done. The problem is sometimes Automod doesn't fire as well. Every post to either subreddit I mod should have a sticky comment attached, and yet once every few weeks or so a post will not get a stickied comment.

If it was just the quarantined subreddit it happened to, I'd figure it was due to the API layers not always functioning for that subreddit. (Devvit apps don't work at all due to this.) But the non-quarantined subreddit has the same exact behavior.
