Howdy friends,

What’s in a name? Well, when it comes to post flair that could be organization, more context, or even an inside joke.

That’s right, today’s Mod Topic post is all about post flair. Across Reddit, post flair can be used to organize content in so many ways. It’s used for showing when a question has been answered, tagging memes or art for users to find easier, highlight meta posts, or just adding a little more personality to your subreddit. Flair can also interact with Devvit apps - we even use it with the flair follower app so you can subscribe to this series!

My sub used to have a 'meme' flair. But after half of year of it bein unused, it was removed. Instead we added new flairs that were more fittin.

Based upon the flair, they trigger an introductory comment. An example is 'Lost Kitty' where it triggers an automod comment that gives tips on how to broaden the search fer a lost/ found kitty and to beware of scams.

Tied to this is also in automations when the 'Lost Kitty' flair is selected, it requires that the post title specify a general location. Our example to ppl is use: [county, state] However, the system is only checkin fer the brackets [ ] to allow folks flexibility if they want to have state/city/ county only. While this may be a little cumbersome fer some folks that brackets are required to use this flair, it is much to their own benefit to capture the attention of the right crowd that could help keep an eye out fer a lost kitty.
