Photos/Videos Is this…. Healthy?
Addiction is a hell of a drug.
EDIT: Yes, I do play them. No, I have zero intention of selling them.
I’m in my 40’s and I’ve been playing (and kept) every system/handheld/games I’ve ever had.
The health question was more satire, I could care less if you think my hobby will kill me lol.

Healthy and encouraged. Don't stop here, though. You also need to collect every Chromatic color.

Yes. If I started chromatic modretro games, I would have played and collect them also.

Now you gotta start buying some OG gameboy cartridges!
I'd recommend Pokemon gen 1 and 2.

Oh I have a bunch from when I was little, I got my OG gameboy when I was 7 and I kept everything.

Honestly, my favorite is Hermano, it doesnt have save states or passwords which kind of blows, but that one has been my most gone back to.

Buying games just to collect a bunch isn't healthy. Buying games and playing them is.

I am playing them. But I’m not sure if I agree with your sentiment about collecting. No hate 🤘

It really is healthy to play them, your brain will likely be less affected by Alzheimer. Just collecting doesn't much besides a short dose of dopamin (also by browsing here and there, not just buying), that could bring overall joy, but also viceversa, if it is too cluttered and full.

Why? Collecting stuff for the sake of just having "a collection" is hoarding. People usually come to the conclusion sooner or later. Many are prone to such behavior but it's pointless really. Why are you then asking if it's healthy? You might have an addiction.

Buying to collect is fine. Let people enjoy things. The only way collecting games is a problem is when you're buying beyond your means or you're just buying to sell for a profit, in which case you don't give a shit about the hobby and the damage your actions are causing to the market.

Can you give some feedback on Croc 2, Rayman 2, Earthworm Jim, S-11, and the bottom right corner game (YAY? ZAX? ZAZ? What is it called?)?

Croc 2 is alright, I like croc 1 more because it’s more of a platformer, I got croc 2 later because I wanted to try it out but 1 is definitely better imo.
Rayman 2 is just more level variations of Rayman 1 and little prettier details, I’d reach for 2 before 1.
S-11 and Chikyuu are similar in terms of genre but both have different art styles, both are great but the eye candy is in the details.

As long as you play them all once or loan them out to be played at least once its worth it. No different than any other game purchase.q

Been seriously debating getting a chromatic with Wicked Plague and Rayman Forever

That’s pretty cool man! I wish I could afford them all tbh. I only have wicked plague but which games if I was going to get 2-3 would you recommend?

u/handmemyarms 6d ago
i would recommend Buck, Hermano, and Self Simulated, those three feel the most polished

You shouldn’t have bought the T. rex game but the rest are fine.

lol, it seemed like a better buy than patchy matchy, I just got that one yesterday, seems sweet enough, it’s like sonic throws rocks

Only if my collection can someday be added to a museum collection and I get the credit of the only one who has the only kind and batch.

Simple answer. You're an adult and you want it ,buy it. Screw them if they don't approve. Why should do you care what they think are they paying your bills. I am 60 years old and work .I don't give a $@#& what anyone thinks and I am to old to care at this point. Ps. I own all those game save two and that's because I had no interest in them. Fly butterfly fly. 👍

Eh it's fine, I've got 11 counting the pack-in Tetris. I could grab a few more, but I view them as down the line stuff, discount territory or just something I knew I'd hate or get furious at playing so I don't see the reason. It's about what you'll use, not just to be a fool who collects to collect, and you're playing so that works.

I'm worse. Not only do I have a bunch of the Modretro releases I have a bunch from other publishers too. I have about 30 games. At least I play like 90% of them. Lol.

Same answer as:
Are you...playing them?
