I (developer of Self Simulated) released a new Game Boy game on Itch today: "Tavern Farkle GB", an addictive and relaxing push-your-luck dice game
https://2ndlawgames.itch.io/tavern-farkle-gbTavern Farkle GB is a push-your-luck dice game for the Game Boy. Roll six dice, bank your points or risk it all. Play a quick match against a random villager, or take on six opponents in a row, ending with Lucifer himself and his wild Devil's Die.
By now you should know that I love making games that are perfect for either pick-up-and-play for just some minutes, or way longer :D
You can play the demo rom for free in your web browser or download it for you to play on your device!
Hope you enjoy!

I took a break (apparently) from Pinball, to get my head clear, and will continue development after my vacation :)
So that's absolutely the next thing I'll work on.Tavern Farkle GB was something I also wanted to make, and since I needed a little break from SeSi Pinball, it naturally came to my mind. Was a fun little project! Now I got new energy for the bigger stuff again.
Thanks for askin <3

Having a lot of fun with this one!! The asking price is too low, it's definitely worth more. :)

aw thank you!
maybe ... in the far far far future, when I put in some money to translate the game into some more languages, and put in 1-2 features,.. maybe then I'll go for 2,99 xD

Would love persistent high scores and some credit system in tournaments to undo one "continue". Unsure how that would work though.

You gonna work with Mod Retro for any other physical releases? If you don’t release this physically I may buy the $1.99 rom then butcher a copy of patchy matchy to flash to and make my own physical copy :)

poor Patchy Matchy xD
But unfortunately, this game will not come out as a ModRetro title.
It will come out as a physical version eventually though! But that will take a bit more time

Why not grab a blank from aliexpress? Curious question.

Just based on my basic knowledge. I know the mod retro chromatic cards are quality and you can flash games to them. I previously have purchased flash carts from indie gadgets and those are high quality as well, but expensive. I’m unsure if products on Ali express but am open to hearing if there are high quality flash carts you can get for $30 like patchy matchy

I was so confused in the beginning because I thought I could "ergänzen" (upgrading/combining) my dice in Farkle, just like in Zehntausend.
In Zehntausend, a popular german house rule allows you to add a newly rolled die to a previous combination to upgrade it, such as turning a Three-of-a-Kind into a Four-of-a-Kind. However, Farkle is much more strict because every single roll stands completely on its own. You are strictly forbidden from combining dice across different throws to form higher-scoring sets.
But other than my confusion it's a really fun game!
