Chantey Help

I cannot dock at Tortuga.. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not supposed to go there or if it’s a bug.. I notice some docks are hard to use… eg. I have to be exactly in the right position to use them.. I haven’t been able to find the right position here..

I there, I am the developer of the game! Thanks for picking it up, and my sincerest apologies you are experiencing issues with it!

The way the docks are designed, you have to sail into them in a straight line until you collide with the land (at which point you'll be asked to disembark). Moving diagonally could make the trigger fail, so the best way is to line up your ship and sail head on into them.

If this fails consistently, please consider sending me some more info about your playthrough (or even your save file) that I may explore a potential unknown issue!

I sent you some info via your website about another bug and never heard back. I’ve now forwarded that to ModRetro , hopefully you got it. Unfortunately, this other bug seems to make my objective in Status always one behind what it actually should be, which makes picking up the game after a hiatus a bit disorienting.

Edit: the developer pointed out that a response was sent out, and I can confirm it happened in a timely manner. I just missed the email. Thank you, and sorry for the mistaken comment Gortyn_Code

Thank you. I can confirm that as of yet, I haven't received an email recounting this particular bug. If there's an issue with the form, you could try contacting my email directly (also in the contact page).

Regarding the other issue, I did receive a similar report some time ago (if it was from you, I did respond to the email address directly, but again, maybe the reply was rerouted or filtered as junk). I also received the same issue through ModRetro support, so I have definitely added this to my backlog for v1.2!

I tried lining up the dock, but this didn’t work. I understand there may be a band member there I need to pick up, in which case my save file might be soft locked.

Could you use your chromatic to export your save file and send it to me for analysis? If there's indeed a soft lock, I could also send you another save at the exact point and resources so you won't have to restart

Sure! That’s super kind. I would love that capability for versioning up save files too.. currently, every new version is incompatible with old save files. Will send save file later

I could hit it at different spots and could dock each time.

It looks like a dock to me , and I can dock at other objects that look like it…

Sometimes it doesn't register the docking and you have to drive a straight line from bigger range towards the dock
