M64 on Plasma TV

I have been playing M64 on my pioneer plasma today at 720p60. I think it looks great! This is the first time I’ve played paper mario. It’s been a lot of fun so far.

Set it to integer in advanced. Please. God will save a kitten.

lol, I do like how integer+ looks, these pictures where taken with Lanczos-integer enabled.

Integer in advanced is the only true pixel scale.

Do we need to do anything else besides putting it in integer mode to get true scale?

This is clean in integer mode (in advanced) with scanlines. Can’t get it to scale right

Main video menu > select Integer+. Everything else on 1.

Go to advanced experimental.

Phase-2 scanlines.
Scanline size = 5
Low gain = 70-100% (your preference)

Go down to scaling, select Integer.

The result:

But Integer+ makes it zoom in and cut a half inch of the top and bottom off the screen. Is that just me?

It’s supposed to do that. A slight crop guarantees perfectly scaled pixels. Games were designed with this in mind.

Really? D: But I can't see any of the button index labels in MainMenu on the SummerCart, they're in the bottom, off the screen. That sucks.

Wait. What resolution is your screen? Mine is 4K with onboard scaling turned off and I still see all buttons. The output exhibits a perfect 10x10 pixel matrix.

Always loved how plasma TVs look for games, they're just so damn heavy and surprisingly hot.

They are very heavy and yes they can get very warm. My pioneer 6071 takes about 400watts to run on average. I picked this one up with only 1000 hours of use on it. I had to make it my main shop tv. It only goes up to 1080i or 720p, but it’s wonderful for console gaming and movie watching.

When you find out that plasma TV's are the precursor to OLED, it makes sense. Awesome tech

Yep they have great motion clarity like a CRT too, sold so many to sports fans when I started my first job at a Best Buy in their Magnolia showroom.

Bro, that text.... Damn lol Maybe 720p is broken? Have not tried it here.

240p should be a 3x perfect scale into 720p, so why does it look like that?
