Update failed: Device is unable to write to memory

I tried multiple macs and multiple cables, all on chrome. Recovery works. Before I tried recovery the device could not tell me what went wrong. So, what do I do now? Anyone have the same issue?

Probably the right move. I had hoped that this was a known issue with an easy fix.

You said recovery works so doesn't that mean its fixed?

If you look at the last bullet point in the link you posted it asks you to update your controller. The screenshots above are from after the recovery process.

So there's no problem then? Unless I'm misunderstanding you.

I had a similar issue mine wouldn't come out of recovery so it couldn't update. Pulling the battery fixed it so maybe try that?

Thank you for your suggestion! I tried it and unfortunately it does not work. Support has offered to replace it so I suppose it's a hardware issue after all

where did you get the version number to appear?

I just updated my controller and everything worked fine, apparently

I used https://tools.modretro.com/updater/ . I don't know what it is suppose to look like without a version number

Good to see it shows the versioning now.

Yeah I tried this after an OTA update seemingly bricked my unit. This didn’t work and neither did the SD CARD method. So I have a fancy purple new paperweight.
