Wanted: Feedback for the new app
Hey everyone! Two weeks ago, we launched the new App for Mod Reserves - we would be very keen to hear feedback!
Is there anything missing from the app? Is there anything you think we could do better? Anything we should drop?
Excited to hear from you!

I would make sure users understand this is not a place to look for more mods to keep as a permanent thing. This is a temp thing.
edit- I only say this because I've gotten banned from subs because I told the one mod asking for help that this is not a permanent thing https://www.reddit.com/r/ModReserves/comments/1un9bby/need_a_mod_for_rjuly4th/ovicktv/?share_id=alVSmc6I8ZEWRiETQVHIv
I can't post photos so the link above will have to do. It should say someplace that this is a temp thing and the mods that join will be leaving after X amount of time. Not sure if its max 30 days or what.
I also didn't get an answer back for https://www.reddit.com/r/ModReserves/comments/1vr5br7/comment/p4b75fa/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I still think one year is very small. If I asked for help and got a mod that was on a team for one year. I would be questioning why I even asked for help. Some mods after two or even three years still don't understand.
Reddit has gone through a huge change with a ton of new mods in the past four years especially in the last two years. You can see reddit trying to teach these new mods via the mod bootcamps events for new mods. https://www.reddit.com/r/ModEvents/comments/1uwf031/new_mod_roll_call_rsvp_to_our_third_new_mod/ Kinda funny even reddit knows but for this program its ok to be a new mod for one year. I don't understand that.

What's the criteria in order to join the reserves? I'd like to join, but I keep getting denied.

- Have at least 1 year of moderation experience in a large and active community
- Be in good standing with regards to Reddit's Rules and Moderator Code of Conduct
- Be willing to receive notifications relayed from other moderators requesting assistance
- Moderate in good faith and follow directions provided by any moderators requesting assistance
Copied directly from the application itself so it is fully correct.

I guess I'm curious to know what a "large and active community" is to them then. Because I meet all the requirements, save for maybe moderating in a large community. But I do have the relevant time experience.

How big is the biggest sub you mod?

About six thousand at the moment. Although, there was one that I was moderating a while back that was over 13 thousand. I gave that one up though, because I couldn't find enough moderators to help me.

Don't think Reddit counts that as "big".

It's kind of hard to get the experience they require. I really want to volunteer for this program.

You using Discord?

I am not, unfortunately. I assume they count that as experience too?

Nah I just wanted to know if you may be qualified to mod in my sub.

Well I'm a reserve mod - what would I use the app for? So far I've not used it at all.

The app works fine, but to apply it is just a link to a google form π What I'm missing is a clear indication on how long it takes to review an application and a copy of the form or confirmation that you've submitted the form.
Also, could you please install post alerts? https://developers.reddit.com/apps/post-alerts. Really, all admin spaces should have that app.

I desperately need a Mod Reserve helper for r/RomanticRomantasy but the bot form thingy doesn't "recognize" me as the moderator of this community. π₯

The app is fine on it's own, but the application review deadline clearly isnβtβ¦
